This is my second blog post in a series of quick and easy recipes to make your life a little easier during this long holiday season. I am sharing a chocolate or vanilla Candy Bark recipe with you, and you will not believe how easy it is to make. This Candy Bark recipe is an easy-to-make dessert to serve at an event, as a gift, or as a fun item to make with children or grandchildren. You can change the toppings to make a festive treat for any occasion. Best of all, you do not need special kitchen tools and do not have to dirty many items.
Prep Time: 5-10 minutes Cooling Time: 1 hour
Ingredients:
Chocolate and/or Vanilla bark
Toppings: This is a list of possible toppings, but you may use any items you wish.
Chocolate Seasonal Nuts
Instructions:
- Line a large baking pan with parchment. I like to use clips to hold down the corners, but you may skip this step if you do not have large clips. If you do not have a large baking pan, you can place a large sheet of parchment paper on the countertop and weigh down each corner.
- Prepare any toppings that need to be cut, chopped, or crushed.
- Follow the instructions on the chocolate package for melting the chocolate. I like using the Kroger Brand Chocolate and Vanilla Candy Coating, especially if I make large batches for parties because it is inexpensive. Additionally, Kroger’s product comes in a disposable tray that you place in the microwave to melt.
- Spread the melted chocolate evenly in a thin layer on the parchment paper.
- Quickly add your toppings to the chocolate and then allow it to cool and harden.
- Once it is completely firm, break the chocolate into pieces.
- Place the pieces in an airtight container or gift bag.
