I am Glenda, a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and now, a newly retired former educator. After spending 36 years in public education, it is time for me to start the next phase in my life.

After speaking with several people and reading many articles about life after retirement, it became very clear that to enjoy retirement, and not spend all my time on the couch watching Netflix and Amazon Prime, I would need to set goals for myself. My main goals for retirement are to spend more time with friends and family, experience new things, learn new skills, and push myself out of my comfort zone.

Through my lifestyle blog, Old Teacher New Lessons, I will chronicle this next phase in my life as I work towards these goals, and experience whatever adventures lay ahead for my family and I. We certainly have many changes coming our way over the next year, and I look forward to sharing them with you. The tone of this blog it meant to be one of joy in the little things life. I believe we should enjoy every day, and not just the big moments.

Join me on this journey in retirement as I share my story about new things I learn, crazy daily adventures, recipes for food that I love, books that or worth reading more than once, and track my goal towards better physical wellbeing. I definitely need accountability partners for that last item.

With gratitude,

Glenda
